The Ordinary brings back their fan-favourite Serum Foundation for a Limited Time - Secure your Shade!
The Ordinary launched their Serum Foundation in 2017 with a 25,000-person waiting list and quickly became a staple product for the brand alongside their extensive science-led skincare offering, sought after for its fluid, serum-like texture, natural skin finish, and accessible pricing.
The Ordinary foundations were discontinued in 2022, however, due to the community consistently asking for these formulations to return (yes, we saw all the comments!) The Ordinary listened! Their popularity speaks volumes, and has driven our teams to bring them back into the hands of those who loved them the most. Without community feedback, we would not have been able to grow DECIEM and The Ordinary to what it is today – so these moments of giving back are fundamental to the brand.
On the 21st of February, The Ordinary will relaunch a limited release of the Serum Foundation in its full 36-colour shade range at £6.40 on The Ordinary’s online site.
Skin Should Look Like Skin
The mission – to relaunch a serum foundation that does nothing. No claims, no benefits, just pigment. This Serum Foundation is based in water and well-studied silicones with high volatility (silicones that will evaporate), which gives an exceptionally smooth finish on the skin, leaving behind pigment without a heavy film.
At The Ordinary, we believe skin is skin, it is just another beautiful factor that makes us uniquely human. Whilst The Ordinary Serum Foundation is not meant to mask imperfections and does not include any active ingredients, good skin prep can be a fundamental step in allowing the product to perform at its best.

Skin undertone is the tone under your skin that comes to the surface to affect its overall hue. Understanding your skin undertone can contribute towards choosing your perfect shade match out of our 36 shades.
Skin undertones can be Warm, Cool, Red or Neutral. Discover what these terms mean below. You will notice these classifications on all of our foundations:
Y: Yellow Undertones (Warm)
Hints of yellow, peachy or a golden complexion. If veins appear green, a person has a yellow undertone. This is often true for more pigmented skin that tans quickly.
P: Pink Undertones (Cool)
Hints of bluish, pink or a ruddy complexion. If veins appear blue or violet and the skin has a pinkish-blue tint, a person has a pink undertone. This is often true for less pigmented skin that does not tan or burns easily.
R: Red Undertones
In more pigmented skin, hints of red indicate a warm undertone.
N: Neutral
No obvious hints of pink or yellow. If veins appear blue-green, a person has a neutral undertone.
